Ngai or Nai island is a lesser known island of Krabi, but the easiest way to reach it is through Pakmeng Pier in Trang. It is considerably small at 4 km long and 2 km wide. Its lush green forest is home to oriental pied hornbills and other animal species, it has a pristine stretch of white sand beach, and impressive beauty. Ngai is an ideal destination for honeymooners and tourists who prefer exclusivity due to its secluded location.

How to go to KOH NGAI from TRANG

For fast mobility especially during off-peak season, it’s best to avail of the services of local tour companies. We went via a tour boat from Pakmeng pier for the amount of 700 THB per pax. This included the chartered coach ride from our hotel, breakfast at Pakmeng pier, snorkeling by an islet called Koh Ya (it’s not on the map, btw), and lunch at Koh Ngai Resort. Sai, the nice, friendly and very efficient staff even managed to have us picked up by the pump boat of the resort where we were booked, free of charge! Going back to Trang, we rented a long-tail boat from Sai and we paid 500 THB/pax (group of 4). This included the boat ride to the pier and the taxi ride to Trang New Bus Terminal.
